Drainage holes are a must for succulents to allow the water to drain out. As stated, succulents do not like too much water so allowing the soil to drain the excess water will help keep your succulents happy.
Most succulents thrive in full days of great sunlight exposure. There are a few that require a bit less sunlight but when in doubt with a succulent, give them as much light as possible.
